Funny that my 50 mile time is faster than my 50K.  Guess that's what happens when your only 50K has over 11,000' of vertical ascent =)

Zion Traverse

Squaw Peak 50 Mile

Speedgoat 50K

Quest For King's

Wasatch 100

Long-Term Running Goals:

Just want to stay happy and healthy.  Bring on whatever that may entail!

Personal:

I started running in April '09 and run to maintain some balance in my life.  Apparently I have an addictive personality so I figure I should do something positive with it.

Pathetic run at the JRP.  Knee seems fine til about mile 3 then all hell breaks loose.  Strength training and eliptical only until this clears up.  Zion's looks unlikely and Squaw Peak is now in jeopardy too.

Dang! What is up with your knee??? I am feeling for anyone with knee pain these days! Do you know what it is? I hope you are okay. At least you can run 4. I hope you will be able to run your races! I will be crossing my fingers for you!

Have you done or considered any PT/Rehab? Sean Wayne at Active Myotherapy (in Ogden unfortunatly) fixed Oreo and my IT band pain pretty quickly...

Amy, just a good ol case of ITBS. I've had it before, but never this long.

Bryce, I'm to the point where I'm considering it. I thought it would work itself out, but it hasn't yet so I'm open to any options at this point.

I am wondering if a steroid might help. It wouldn't hurt to check with a doc. Good luck man, that really blows.

I scheduled an ART session for today (Monday). Hoping to work out a gameplan to get this under control. Thanks for the all the advice guys.
