Funny that my 50 mile time is faster than my 50K.  Guess that's what happens when your only 50K has over 11,000' of vertical ascent =)

I started running in April '09 and run to maintain some balance in my life.  Apparently I have an addictive personality so I figure I should do something positive with it.

I needed to build some confidence back because I've been feeling really defeated since Monday's little episode.  Went up to Mill B South and did the Lake Blanche trail.  When I'm in good shape I'm able to run every step of this trail, and that was the goal for today.  While at times I felt like I was barely moving, I accomplished my goal and ran every step.  Round trip was only about 8 minutes slower than usual too, so that's pretty encouraging.  That means my downhill legs are just about back.

Now if I could just lose this extra 7 or so pounds I'm carrying, I'd be right back in the game.  My focus for the next week: Diet.  Well, and more running of course!

I keep saying I am going to focus on diet and I pretty much lose it by Thursday. Hmm....that is today. Do not ask me what I have eaten today!

I am glad that everything on Monday turned out OK. I had no idea you had so much going on in life---time to get in some good trail running and take a breath. or so that is what you guys tell me---running trails gives me more anxiety!

Best of luck to you in the upcoming races. You are a superb athlete so all will be well SOON!! And congrats on the relationship-that is a good and happy thing!

Maybe I will see you at Wasatch this year. I actually get to pace. Wait, for sure I will see you at the start. I will be there with my camera to catch photos of all of you crazy men whenever possible. I am having anxiety about it already (mountain lions, snakes, bears, Craig-all that scary wildlife!)

Yeah, I totally struggle with diet. I don't even know if I make it to Thursday... It's usually kinda all over the place.

Trails are definitely my happy place and I feel totally rejuvenated after tonight's run. I just wish I had the time to get up there every day.

Definitely hope to see ya at Wasatch! Who are you pacing? I see you catching the (ultra) bug once that one's over with (:

I will be with my sister in law. I was supposed to be there last year (but just a driver) but Scott's grandpa had a heart attack and I did not have any help with getting my kids to soccer and football so I had to bail on her. I was not happy about missing it, but life got in the way.

I am not sure how much she trusts me to pace, so we will see what she lets me do. Apparently my brother is organizing the pacing duties. I ran the last 22 or so miles of the course with her last year on a training run and she kicked my butt. There was way too much downhill. So, I am sure I will be used on the uphill parts so i can actually keep up with her. I dunno, she has gotten fast, I may not even be able to keep up with her then, unless she has already run 40 or so. ;o)

I do like trail running once I get myself there. The race last weekend was incredible and I loved it. I really wished it had been longer (mostly so I could have run slower). I just have so many fears...I am quite irrational.

My husband is calling me for dessert! YEAH, more food! Not good on a week I am hardly running, but what are ya gonna do??? I will focus on diet next week, too.

Those downhills are killer for sure. It's the one thing about trail running that is really important to build up. Once you've built to a certain point though, your legs get feeling bombproof and you can go over anything. So make sure to practice lots of downhill before your pacing duties (:

You're wicked fast so I can't imagine you not being able to keep up with her. It's just a matter of adapting your body to the terrain.

I've been munching on almonds all morning, but that dang Pepsi machine keeps calling out my name! Work is the hardest for me because people are always bringing in treats and ordering take-out. Arggghh! I CAN resist, I CAN resist, I CAN resist!

Downhills completely freak me out, not sure they will ever be easy for me but I will practice.

How about a diet Pepsi??

YOU CAN RESIST. I am eating a massive bowl of yogurt and fruit. So far so good.

Nice outing. I've still never been up that trail. I'm a trail loser.
