Funny that my 50 mile time is faster than my 50K.  Guess that's what happens when your only 50K has over 11,000' of vertical ascent =)

Zion Traverse

Squaw Peak 50 Mile

Just want to stay happy and healthy.  Bring on whatever that may entail!

Personal:

I started running in April '09 and run to maintain some balance in my life.  Apparently I have an addictive personality so I figure I should do something positive with it.

I'm taking a hiatus from running for an indefinite amount of time since it will do me no good until I get my head straight again.  Never thought having some finality in my marriage would screw me up so much, but it has.  I'm looking forward to having some downtime to process everything and having no expectations as far as running is concerned.  I'm convinced that once I'm back I'll be better than ever.  Who am I kidding though?  I'll probably be out tomorrow roaming the mountains somewhere just out of pure boredom.

Sorry to hear about the difficult things going on in your life right now. I've not experienced what you are going through, but I have gone through some pretty tough things too. Hang in there, chances are it will get better in time.

Running always makes me feel better, I think running will help you clear your mind and help release some of the pain and emotion. Go roam the mountains and run as hard and fast as you can....I do that when I need to feel better! I hope you stay on here. Maybe we could hit some trails together soon.

Thanks for the kind words you guys. One thing I've learned through this process is how great my friends and family are. And our little family here on FRB is so supportive of each other, it's crazy. I'm thinking I'll just take a couple weeks off to clear my head. Definitely won't be able to maintain any sanity much longer than that without running, so I'll be back at it soon enough.

Running or not we need to hang out. I certainly can feel what you are going through. It's literally the worst thing in the world. You up for lunch this week with Matt and me?

Jun, I'd love to hang out. Let me know when and where and I'll be there.

So sorry man - I can't imagine how you must be feeling.

I'm with Jun - running or not we need to hang for sure. I don't know what, if anything, I could do that would help, but if there is something, just let me know! Seriously.

Take care of yourself J, I wish you the best as you sort out present difficulties in your life. Sometimes I don't feel the joy in physical exercise because things are not right in my personal life, but I know I have to keep at it even if it feels like a chore.
