Funny that my 50 mile time is faster than my 50K.  Guess that's what happens when your only 50K has over 11,000' of vertical ascent =)

Just want to stay happy and healthy.  Bring on whatever that may entail!

Personal:

I started running in April '09 and run to maintain some balance in my life.  Apparently I have an addictive personality so I figure I should do something positive with it.

Ran at an easy pace today to make sure I don't overdo things while working into my Altras.  Happened to run into my friend Scott in the parking lot and we ran the whole way together, which made it easy for me to keep my pace down.  Legs a bit sore afterward since I was focusing on midfoot striking again, only this time with my regular road shoes so I had the benefit of a more built-up heel to assist me.

Your calves feeling ok?

Calves feel good but my posterior shin splints are making a return. Can't decide if it's a result of the road or the Altras, so I'll be sticking to the trails for the next little bit to determine that. So weird that this problem happens on the road but not on the trails.

"Which made it easier to keep my pace down"

So basically just like running with your other friend Scott (me). Haha.

I'm always trying to focus on the mid-foot strike and lifting my legs far enough behind me. It is hard to get the proper form down! How do you like the Altras? I think I better get some and try them out!

I'm liking the Altras right now. It's gonna take some time to determine whether or not they'll be my go-to shoe. So comfortable though! Definitely check em out.
