Funny that my 50 mile time is faster than my 50K.  Guess that's what happens when your only 50K has over 11,000' of vertical ascent =)

Zion Traverse

Squaw Peak 50 Mile

Speedgoat 50K

Quest For King's

Wasatch 100

Long-Term Running Goals:

Just want to stay happy and healthy.  Bring on whatever that may entail!

Personal:

I started running in April '09 and run to maintain some balance in my life.  Apparently I have an addictive personality so I figure I should do something positive with it.

Mill B North.  Got up to about 8500 feet and the fog in the air was crystallizing.  Was really cool to see.  Started hearing lots of loud booms.  Not sure if it was thunder or dynamite, but didn't want to get stuck in the freezing temps in shorts and a jacket, so I turned around.

Knee started acting up with about a mile to go.  Not quite sure what to do from here.  Keep running I guess?!

Was it hurting or getting tight? Sometimes you have to run through the mental aspect of tightness until it loosens up. It's also a good reminder to get your hips forward.

I can feel it tighten up and then it eventually starts hurting. Zions will tell if it's something I can push through mentally or not.

If it starts hurting so bad at Zion that you can't continue, I'll carry you. Have you decided what section you want to start running on?

I have no plans on slowing you down. If it gets too bad, I'll just run/walk til I meet the crew.

Thinking I want to start with you. All that downhill starting on the east end will almost certainly spell trouble. Figure I'll last a bit longer on the uphill stuff.

We'll have a downhill start from Kolob too, but it's really casual. then it's slightly uphill for the next 10 miles or so. It's a good call. That will be a13.5 mile section and will be a good test for you knee. Then you'll know if you should/could continue onto the next 23 mile section.
